Question 1

What is DMDrop?

Accepted Answer

DMDrop turns Instagram engagement into revenue. A follower comments a keyword on your reel, DMDrop sends them a DM with your link, and they buy a product, book a call, join a course or leave their email, all from one creator page.

Question 2

What do I need to get started?

Accepted Answer

An Instagram Creator or Business account linked to a Facebook Page, which is Meta’s requirement for API access. Switching a personal account to Creator is free and takes about 30 seconds in the Instagram app.

Question 3

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

Accepted Answer

No. The Starter plan is free forever and needs no card. You only add payment details if you upgrade.

Question 4

How long does setup take?

Accepted Answer

Most creators connect Instagram, pick a reel and publish their first keyword automation in under five minutes.

Question 5

Do I need to know how to code?

Accepted Answer

No. Automations, storefronts, courses and bookings are all built with point-and-click editors.

Question 6

How does comment-to-DM work?

Accepted Answer

You choose a reel or post, set one or more trigger keywords (for example LINK or OUTFIT) and write your DM. When someone comments the keyword, DMDrop sends your message automatically through Instagram’s private replies.

Question 7

Is there a limit on DMs or automations?

Accepted Answer

No. Every plan, including free, has unlimited automated DMs and unlimited automations. Sending is paced to stay inside Instagram’s own rate limits.

Question 8

Can I ask people to follow me before they get the link?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Follow-gate DMs ask the commenter to follow you first and only then release the link. This is available on Creator and Pro.

Question 9

Does it work on stories and live comments?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Story reply and live comment triggers are available on Creator and Pro.

Question 10

Can I reply publicly to comments too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Public comment replies like “Check your DMs!” can be switched on for any automation to boost engagement on the post.

Question 11

How many keywords can I use?

Accepted Answer

Starter supports up to 3 keywords. Creator and Pro are unlimited, with rotating reply variations so your DMs don’t look repetitive.

Question 12

What happens when a reel goes viral and thousands comment at once?

Accepted Answer

Messages are queued and sent in order, paced below Instagram’s limit of 750 private replies per hour. Nobody is skipped, they simply receive their DM as the queue drains.

Question 13

Is DMDrop allowed by Instagram?

Accepted Answer

Yes. DMDrop only uses Meta’s official Graph API and webhooks. We never scrape, emulate logins or ask for your Instagram password; you connect through Meta’s own OAuth screen.

Question 14

Will my account get flagged or banned?

Accepted Answer

DMDrop sends through the approved private replies endpoint with jitter and a sliding-window limiter kept below Meta’s ceiling, which is what protects your account from spam flags.

Question 15

Can I disconnect Instagram at any time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Disconnect from your dashboard and DMDrop immediately loses access. You can also remove the app from Instagram’s settings.

Question 16

How do I delete my data?

Accepted Answer

Follow the steps on our data deletion page, or contact support and we will remove your account and associated data.

Question 17

What can I sell?

Accepted Answer

Digital downloads, guides, presets, templates, courses, paid bookings, and affiliate lookbooks. Prices can be fixed, pay-what-you-want or free.

Question 18

How many products can I host?

Accepted Answer

Starter allows up to 3 digital products. Creator and Pro are unlimited.

Question 19

What is a Lookbook?

Accepted Answer

A mobile page that lists every item featured in a reel, such as outfits or gadgets. Links deep-link into shopping apps like Amazon and Myntra, so shoppers land in the app, not a browser.

Question 20

How are files delivered securely?

Accepted Answer

Buyers get expiring, pre-signed download links, so files can’t be shared around freely.

Question 21

Can I add upsells to checkout?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Order bumps and sales funnels are available on Creator and Pro.

Question 22

Can I use my own domain?

Accepted Answer

Custom domains such as links.yourbrand.com, plus removing DMDrop branding, are part of the Pro plan.

Question 23

How do payments work?

Accepted Answer

Checkout runs on Dodo Payments, which acts as Merchant of Record. It accepts UPI, cards and Apple Pay, and handles sales tax and VAT for you.

Question 24

What are the platform fees?

Accepted Answer

DMDrop takes 9% on Starter, 5% on Creator and 0% on Pro. Payment processing fees from the gateway apply on top. Affiliate lookbook clicks carry no platform fee.

Question 25

When do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

Earnings are paid to your bank account on a regular payout schedule. You can track every order from the Payments page in your dashboard.

Question 26

Which currencies are supported?

Accepted Answer

Plans are priced in USD or INR based on your region. Buyers can pay in their local currency at checkout.

Question 27

Can I sell courses?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Build sections and lessons with video, articles, files or quizzes. Students get a learning area with progress tracking, and you can post announcements.

Question 28

How do bookings work?

Accepted Answer

Set your services and availability, and followers book and pay from your link. Bookings sync with Google Calendar and Zoom, send reminders and calendar invites, and support refunds.

Question 29

Can customers reschedule?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every booking has a private manage link so customers can reschedule or cancel without contacting you.

Question 30

Are courses and bookings on the free plan?

Accepted Answer

1:1 bookings and courses are included from the Creator plan upwards.

Question 31

How do I collect emails and phone numbers?

Accepted Answer

Add a lead capture form to your page or inside a DM flow. Starter stores up to 25 leads; Creator and Pro are unlimited.

Question 32

Where do my contacts live?

Accepted Answer

Everyone who comments, DMs, buys or submits a form becomes a contact you can search and export. Contacts are unlimited on every plan.

Question 33

Which integrations are available?

Accepted Answer

Zapier, Mailchimp, Kit and outbound webhooks on Creator and Pro. Shopify revenue tracking is on Pro.

Question 34

Can I send a message to many contacts at once?

Accepted Answer

Segments are on Creator and Pro, and broadcasts to a segment are on Pro.

Question 35

What are the plans?

Accepted Answer

Starter is free, Creator is $5/month and Pro is $15/month (₹0, ₹499 and ₹1,499 in India). Yearly billing is discounted. See the pricing page for the full comparison.

Question 36

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes, at any time from Billing in your dashboard. A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

Question 37

How many Instagram accounts can I connect?

Accepted Answer

One on Starter, up to two on Creator and up to five on Pro.

Question 38

Do you offer team access?

Accepted Answer

Pro includes team workspaces with roles and audit logs, built for agencies and brands managing several creators.

Question 39
